Here's just a few of the things you can see at The Henry Ford:
- John F Kennedy's presidential limousine
- Thomas Edison's laboratory
- Fully functioning Ford Model Ts and steam locomotives
- The bus on which Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat
- R. Buckminster Fuller's prototype Dymaxion house (the only one!)
- The Wright brothers' bicycle shop
- An Oscar Mayer Wienermobile
And much much more.
Also, a new exhibit of Hollywood costumes just opened at the museum. It includes memorabilia from blockbuster films like
The Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, Blade Runner, and
Terminator as well as popular television programs such as
Star Trek and
Battlestar Galactica. Where else can you see the
Batmobile from Tim Burton's 1989 film or the way-cool Cadillac ambulance that starred in
Ghostbusters? If you haven't been to The Henry Ford, go. Now!
If you have, you need to go there again. Or more often.
