Orignially built with only one screen in 1927, a restoration and rebuild in the mid-nineties has meant expansion to multiplex. The Birmingham Theatre has been recognized architecturally for its design and layout by the American Institute of Architecture. While the sound system and seating has been updated and upgraded, much of the original architecture remains. For the audience this means a contemporary cinema experience, in a historic space.
