I work with several clients throughout the Detroit region and beyond, providing public relations counsel and guidance. From writing and research, to media relations and crisis communication, we provide a number of diversified services. I definitely have a passion for writing and enjoy working on client news releases, pitch materials, press kits and more. However, I also have a passion for social media and its application to the field of PR. Social media is changing the way we communicate, and I love working in a field that allows me to be on the forefront of it all. The best part about my job is definitely the people I work with. Our agency team is like a family. We all work together, and despite the sometimes hectic nature of our jobs, we love what we're doing and have fun doing it. I actually worked at Franco as an intern the summer prior to my graduation, so when a job opportunity became available I received a call right away! When I came back it was like I was getting back together with old friends.

Not many people can say they landed their dream job right out of college, but that's exactly what happened to me. I joined the Arzika team and have watched the company nearly double in size since I came on board. In the events business, things are constantly changing and evolving and your to-do list changes on almost a minute-to-minute basis, which can be kind of crazy. As the design and marketing specialist, I spend most of my time doing design work, which includes everything from creating logos to designing marketing collateral to making website updates, and the other part focused on marketing. I love coming to work because every day holds new and exciting challenges and the people I work with are very supportive of each other. We have a great culture and laugh a lot, so even if we’re working long hours at least we’re having fun!

The diverse hands on experience I have gained while progressively increasing my responsibilities with Greektown Casino (www.GreektownCasino.com) and MGM Grand Detroit Casino (www.MGMGrandDetroit.com) helped me to secure a position with one of fortune 100 best companies to work for. Since joining Valassis I have been able to offer my expertise in engineering and management of our VMware virtual infrastructure. I also provide engineering and support for our www.redplum.com web infrastructure and tier 3 support for our back office server infrastructure where I get to work with a great team of talented architects, application, database, operations, server, and network engineers as well as the dynamic business and sales teams we support.

I'm proud to say I work with Valassis because I feel they are a company who understands consumers and has constantly provided value through their partners and most recently through our www.redplum.com portal where you can get money saving coupons for many common items. Valassis is also a big supporter of community charity and has an active internal "green" initiative. This company culture has encouraged and allowed me to pursue my own personal development and charitable involvement. During the past two years they have given me the support to get my VMware VCP 3 and 4 certifications and is supporting me going back to earn a masters degree in business and management. Also, I currently volunteer an average of 25 hours a month to the local county where I have participated in many great things like the Special Olympics, various parades, children safety seminars as well as providing public safety services.

I love the creative freedom that my job allows me to have. I am never stuck doing the same task over and over again. I have something new and exciting waiting for me everyday, which is a refreshing feeling. Identity also has an extremely varied client base. We work with everyone from law firms to orthodontists, making a dull moment hard to find. I spend about 75% of my time writing and the rest conducting research, reading, communicating with clients and working on graphics concepts. My favorite projects include lots of writing and client relations -- I really enjoy building new relationships.

The people in my office work hard so they can play harder. Everyone enjoys the work they do, but they are also very social. We all enjoy having fun together and are fortunate in having the ability to do so. The partners host “quarterly activities” four times a year, monthly “Happy Hour’s” and team building exercises that help us to get to know each other on a more personal level. The office is very much like a family, which makes coming to work a fulfilling experience.

Working at Arzika is both a pleasure and a challenge.  I enjoy the freedom of brainstorming to come up with new and better ways to work on our events.  At 23, I attend meetings and know that my opinion is listened to and taken into consideration or execution.

As the Communications Specialist at Arzika, I am able to wear many hats working within many different departments including PR, marketing, production and operations.  Multi-tasking and time management are a must in my everyday life.  While I enjoy having various tasks throughout the day, keeping up with all 4 departments is always a challenge.

My schedule changes hour to hour, I never know what I will be doing for what department and I love it! Working in such a fast paced environment makes the day go by so much faster and keeps from becoming monotonous.
