Chelsea Prudhomme

My position at Group Golfer as Social Media Coordinator includes consistently growing the company online as well as through publicity in each region as we expand forward. As an avid golf enthusiast myself, this opportunity came to me at a time when I truly needed a refreshing and inspirational change of pace. After graduating college, finding a position in the golf arena in Michigan was looking hopeless. The offers to relocate for this industry specific work seemed appealing but my desire to stay in state with my family prevailed. I spent the past 3 years in general marketing positions but nothing that I could really be passionate about. After becoming a GroupGolfer customer and watching them rapidly grow for roughly a year, it occurred to me that I should look into a position at the company. After the sudden epiphany of pursuing a position, I realizing they were located only minutes from my front door, applied online and landed myself a position. The rest is yet to come! Just like other daily deal sites but with a focus on golf, GroupGolfer uses collective buying power to negotiate discounts with popular golf businesses. Subscribers can get email alerts on the latest deal and the deal only becomes active after a minimum number of people agree to buy, thus making it both beneficial to the course and customer alike. Working with a company that serves to nurture the growth of the wonderful game of golf is something I am energetic about and I look forward to growing in my new position.

Nicole Genaw

As an Account Manager in Online Sales, I help some of Google's highest-potential advertisers grow their business using Google's products (including search, display advertising, TV, and YouTube). I manage a multi-million dollar book of business and build partnerships with key decision-makers, develop a deep understanding of the advertiser's business model and its customers, and create compelling advertising solutions through customized analysis.

I chose the Metro Detroit area because I was born and raised here and I believe that Detroit and Metro Detroit businesses are detrimental across the nation and am proud to be a part of one of them. Google is known for it's energetic culture, and the Ann Arbor office is no different and I enjoy being able to express my personal interests in my work. Additionally, unlike many other business that have advertising account managers, you don't need to put a certain amount of time under your belt to meet face-to-face with a client, so there is a lot of avenues to grow professional skills and build your career in the direction that you want.

Rachel Lucido

Tiffany Risner

After 4 years in Florida, I needed to experience seasons again, so I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to pursue a career in writing short fiction and poetry but along the way became enthralled with the glitzy world of Digital Marketing. Dave Lemieux

My career with Biznet began in February of 09’ as an intern. I signed up with Oakland University’s career services in January of 09’ and within a month I received a phone call for an interview. They said they saw my resume on Oakland’s database (I didn’t even reach out to them!) and brought me in. I was ecstatic and a little nervous given it was my first interview for a possible “career job,” but I nailed it and got the paid internship I was hoping for. While pursuing a degree in Business Marketing I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me to jump-start my career! Over the following months I gained a vast amount of knowledge on digital marketing, social media, and the importance of communicating effectively. Come September business was starting to boom and I was offered a full-time position as Marketing Coordinator. I was overjoyed and didn’t even think twice; I took the offer.

My responsibilities today include website copy writing and tweaking, search engine optimization, article and video distribution, analyzing metrics, social media monitoring, building client relationships...basically the behind the scenes stuff that helps companies websites get ranked higher in search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing...etc). I love what I do and I love the team I work with (probably most important factor for a successful business). The most rewarding part for me is seeing these campaigns, that we work so hard on, succeed and drive traffic along with potential business to their websites.

Doug Menzer

Controlled chaos is a great oxymoron and - it's how I feel my career has evolved over the past few years. Shortly after graduating from MSU (in May 2000) and winning my first full-time position at VSI Holdings, my mother, father, grandparents and close mentor's advice came true once again. Nothing comes easy (especially in Detroit.) I had found a great company to work for (side by side with 100's of great people) and it didn't work out. Not because I was fired, but the large holding company closed the doors and it was time for all of us to roll up our sleeves and move on.

I thrived on the spontaneity of that first job – so I immediately went back to work for a great company that I did an internship for in 1998 called Budco: The Dialogue Company. I was fortunate enough to have several management roles at Budco and worked under great leadership who had an entrepreneurial spirit. I admired many of the great mentors and witnessed how loyalty, leadership, passion and IT expertise aided in the company's incredible growth.

During my own entrepreneurial moonlighting gig starting in 2005 (with a partner based out of Saginaw), we successfully facilitated the rapid growth of an emerging ecommerce surgical supply company, Freshmenz Marketing Group. We aggressively winning several major Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) RFP’s. Then after strategically acquiring funding in late 2006 by a Management Company based out of Saginaw, Michigan, we opened a new office in Wixom, MI and I worked with organizations such as the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to help the surgical supply company network in Southeast Michigan to promote breakthrough growth. In early 2007, with this great entrepreneurial success in the surgical supply business, I carried on to other consultation jobs (with CJPS Enterprises) within the healthcare industry prior to joining SmartFinds Internet Marketing, entering back into marketing communications full time.

Today, having had experience with many fortune 100 clients and developing many great relationships built on trust, hard work and integrity, my vision (along with my partners) for our region is growth.  My background is extremely diversified so I'm comfortable with clients in the automotive, non-profit, healthcare and retail industries, which is perfectly suited for building digital marketing and social media strategies. At Biznet, our team works hard - and long hours are sometimes necessary due to the company's growth with large projects and a large amount of new projects. Recently, I have been fortunate to work with many great people who are just as determined to continue moving the ball forward.
