As an assistant account executive, I develop and conduct communications campaigns utilizing social and traditional media. I've become a liaison between my client and the media to raise awareness of important messages my clients would like to promote.

As a Staffing Consultant my responsibilities include recruiting a strong candidate pool, review and evaluation of applicants' qualifications, conducting phone and face-to-face interviews, monitoring the weekly payroll process, conducting reference and background checks on applicants, handling employee and client problems, maintaining employment records, executing the hiring process for new employees, promoting new business development calls, and coaching applicants on interviewing techniques and resume writing.

I coordinate print promotions for clients looking to gain product exposure in various markets.

I manage the New Media team at Lake Trust Credit Union, the fourth largest credit union in the state of Michigan. Our corporate headquarters are in Lansing, but we service customers  from Grand Haven to Detroit — from lake to lake! As New Media Manager, my position involves overseeing social media, search engine optimization, blogging, and audio/video creation. Part of my role involves researching media innovations and monitoring industry trends, as well as supporting other areas of marketing as needed. I specialize in project management including new technology, event planning, and employee education. I'm interested in furthering my knowledge of professional development, process improvement, and organizational communication efforts.

I am the Economic Development Program Manager for the Woodward Avenue Action Association (WA3). The WA3 is a non-profit community development organization formed out of a Byway designation through the Federal Highway Administration for the great and historic Woodward Avenue. Currently Woodward Avenue is designated an All American Road the most prestigious road designation any road can receive and is one of 4 urban byways in the country.

The job takes me along the 27 mile stretch of Woodward Avenue working with 11 communities and 2 counties. Meetings consisting of historic neighborhood residents, council members, city planners, business owners, community activists, engineers, political constituents and many more. My position allows me to lead and work on projects that will enhance the functionality and aesthetics of Woodward Avenue and bring investment to the corridor. Projects range from transit, historic preservation, non-motorized activities, economic development, tourism and promotion of the byway. The networking is amazing and knowing the in's and out's of what new businesses or developments that are popping up always gives me the inside scoop. Our organization is guided by a staff of 3 young female professionals and a board of directors ranging from business owners, county representatives or municipal seats. There is a lot of energy among our staff which makes our small team productive and transparent.

I feel very lucky to have found this position in the my field of Urban Planning as planning is my passion and working in such a capacity allows me to focus on a regional planning approach. I live in Detroit now at the historically preserved Kales building! Going to work is not like reporting for a daily job it's like being able to do your favorite hobby everyday for 8 hours a day and the bonus is you get paid, meet a lot of great people along the way and are working towards making a difference.

As an assistant solutions planner, I insightfully interpret and illuminate data to create a deeper understanding of human behavior. I help discover consumer insights and develop strategies that meet established business objectives.

Being a Search Engine Optimization Strategist is definitely a fun job. Whether I’m writing copy, working with social media, or looking at metrics, there’s always something new that comes along. These areas are growing so fast, there’s really no limit to what you can do. The people I work with make it even better. They’re smart as hell and down to earth – the kind of people you’d have a beer with after work. Quicken Loans is moving downtown to the Compuware building in August, so I’m pretty pumped about that (the view is sweet). With all the negative news we often hear about Detroit, it’s good to know there are people who are truly looking to improve the city. Come say hi to us sometime!

I love the spontaneity of my job, no matter how planned out my day is, it’s never going to go exactly the way I thought. I am responsible for soliciting new catering accounts, entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed food and beverage revenue goals and I oversee all my client functions to ensure customer satisfaction. I truly love what I do and am very fortunate to be in a beautiful historic hotel and work with an amazing team of people!

Reink Media Group (RMG), founded in 2009, is a Michigan based internet focused media company. Its primary niche is the financial industry with network traffic currently exceeding one million pageviews annually. Web properties include: StockTradingToGo.com, tradeWISER.com, and EPICInsights.com.

I work alongside my brother Blain to grow our web assets and implement new aspects of our business operations. We are constantly launching new features, improving our custom designed content management system, and seeking out new site acquisitions that meet our purchasing criteria. I help to maintain the data and information our users interact with in addition to handling all marketing and branding.

For marketing I utilize tools such as Google Adwords as well as work with various financial media networks to drive premium quality traffic to our web sites. I am also constantly tweaking our SEO tactics and strategies. Branding wise we utilize in house talent and a free lance designer to quickly update design aspects or even entire site redesigns.

I provide legal research and writing services on a freelance or as-needed basis to attorneys and small law firms in need of assistance with their legal documents. I LOVE my job. I love the freedom, challenge, and versatility of working with many types of attorneys. I also enjoy learning various aspects of the law as I am able to help them with their legal practice. I have a great level of satisfaction in working for myself, and I am constantly seeking new opportunities to grow, learn, and adapt to the ever-changing legal environment.

Nelson Mandela declared, “Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world.”  Everyday in the classroom, I challenge young people to expand the parameters of their minds, in order to be critical thinkers in a chaotic world.  Our youth need to realize, they are not the NEXT generation but they are the NOW generation.  Now is the time to infuse character, hope, and healing into their lives via the vehicle of education which will transform our world.

As a cancer survivor, I share my inspiring story of overcoming the odds and transforming life’s trials into triumphs.  In spite of cancer I decided that “I CAN” overcome with my determination and the strength of God’s healing power.  I infuse my inspiring story, the power to persevere, and messages of hope into my 3 books, classrooms, churches, conferences, and various arenas, in order to compel and propel individuals to unlock the doors to their potential.

While having a background in architecture, my past experience includes projects  such as affordable housing, educational facilities, as well as commercial buildings. These projects can be found nationally from St. Louis to Kansas City and Dallas to New Orleans.  Each of these projects required a great deal of organizational and leadership skills for a successful completion.  My background in Design and Urban Planning is a benefit to many of the technical projects I may encounter.  I have managed to build vital relationships with clients as well as successful coordination with various Project Management teams.  

I joined Jacobsen/Daniels Associates as a Project Analyst.  My office includes a diverse group of architects, engineers, planners and graphic designers. Working with such an array of professionals creates an energetic environment where various perspectives can collaborate on a solution to a problem that is unsurpassed. JDA has a great family culture, which makes coming to work that much easier.   

With a background in architecture I embraced the challenge of working for a company that specializes in consulting and planning for airports across the country. I learn something new every day! A great deal of my time is spent creating layout plans, scope, schedule and budget estimates, preliminary design sketches and conducting research for a number of projects. I most enjoy the business development experience that my job provides which sometimes involves traveling and attending coordination meetings with project contractors and clients.  

My involvement with the National Organization of Minority Architects keeps me connected to other professionals in the industry.  The organization is great for building strategic relationships with individuals who have successfully obtained their business goals. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration while continuing on the path of becoming a licensed architect.

In my current position as Senior Billing Specialist & Wireless Consultant, I have a myriad of responsibilities.  To name a few, I am responsible for resolving client concerns and issues, relative to billing inquiries.  I perform all facets of tier-one level tech support and troubleshooting for all mobile devices offered.  I am responsible for updating and modifying customer accounts and providing accurate and correct information, as it relates to processing service activations, ESN changes, equipment replacement, and price plan changes and upgrades.  I also facilitate matching data solutions, products and services to clients through development of wireless communication solutions, assisting potential and existing clients in the purchase of equipment and services and with initiating follow-up contact with clients to ensure complete satisfaction with all products and services.

I work with several clients throughout the Detroit region and beyond, providing public relations counsel and guidance. From writing and research, to media relations and crisis communication, we provide a number of diversified services. I definitely have a passion for writing and enjoy working on client news releases, pitch materials, press kits and more. However, I also have a passion for social media and its application to the field of PR. Social media is changing the way we communicate, and I love working in a field that allows me to be on the forefront of it all. The best part about my job is definitely the people I work with. Our agency team is like a family. We all work together, and despite the sometimes hectic nature of our jobs, we love what we're doing and have fun doing it. I actually worked at Franco as an intern the summer prior to my graduation, so when a job opportunity became available I received a call right away! When I came back it was like I was getting back together with old friends.
