Your People Hires for Southfield office, plans more

Your People is growing its staff slowly and steadily, but the public relations company is in the midst of taking a big step forward with its client base.

"We are taking on national clients," says Lynne Golodner (formerly Lynne Schreiber before a recent marriage), owner of Your People. "That's a big deal. Up until now we have had Michigan clients looking for national coverage."

Among the clients the 4-year-old company is helping further its reach is Yoga Shelter, which is growing its national presence. It has also taken on Deborah Williamson as a new client. Williamson is the founder of the internationally recognized Yoga Life Coach Certification, owner of Midwest Power Yoga, Master Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, and a co-founder of LIVE LOVE TEACH. Your People has leveraged this new work to grow its team to seven people. It recently brought on a graphic designer and plans to add a social media position over the next year.

Your People is also diversifying the services it offers. The Southfield-based company has begun offering classes in business building, marketing, public relations and other aspects of media management. "I thought why not spread the wealth and teach people how to do public relations and marketing on their own."

Golodner started Your People in 2007 after working as a journalist for 15 years in Washington, D.C., New York. Her most recent journalism job was as a freelancer for The Detroit News.
