Ann Arbor's Llamasoft opens Singapore office

You know your business is doing well when you go multinational. Just ask the folks at Ann Arbor's Llamasoft, Inc., which recently announced the opening of a satellite office in sunny Singapore.

"Llamasoft as a company been growing for the last five years," says Gary Bobalik, director of marketing. "We've felt the need to be closer in connection with our customers on a global basis. We have customers all over the world, and in the Asia-specific area, we felt like we needed to have a presence. An opportunity came up  to actually open an office and we took that opportunity,"

LLamasoft provides software and expertise to design and modify supply chain network operations, according to the company's Web site. It's product, Supply Chain Guru, is the leading supply chain strategic planning application available in the market today, the Web site says.

All Singapore hires are local employees, Bobalik says.

"People from that part of the world that really want to understand logistics of shipping products to America and all over the world would use our product to design their supply chain network, the least-cost network or network that's going to be the most profitable," Bobalik says.

That same information, he says, can be used to make more effective pitches to clients back home.
