Video production firm KDN Videoworks expands into new economy

KDN Videoworks is taking the most popular media of the 20th Century (television) --its bread and butter for 28 years-- and turning it into a 21st Century business.

The Madison Heights-based business has gone from specializing in providing broadcast and video services to the likes of CNN and other major networks and filmmakers to a full-service creative and production agency. The bottom line is the company is focusing on telling stories for TV, films, webisodes and radio than just providing commodity services.

"We can go in on a production from start to finish," says Ron Yanik, general marketing manager for KDN Videoworks. "We can go in and provide the creative end and the production end."

The six-person firm has recently landed CNN, InSession and Headline News to provide remote television studios and services to their networks and anchors covering the Sandusky Trial at the courthouse in Bellefonte Pennsylvania through the company's Mobile Studios arm.

"We are on the upward swing," Yanik says. "We are always on the lookout for new talent."
