Digitizing medical records seems to be one of the big challenges this decade, one that is creating a lot of economic opportunity.
And
gloStream
is taking advantage of that oppoortunity to the tune of triple-digit growth. The firm, founded in 2005, has gone from six people to 45, including 20 new hires within the last year. That's thanks to 100 percent growth in revenue.
"We expect that our growth will be at 100 percent or more for the next few years," says Mike Sappington, president and CEO of gloStream.
The company, which specializes in streamlining complex processes, expects to significantly expand it employee base to more than 100 people to capitalize on that growth. But for the next year it will start with at least 10 new people.
Bloomfield Hills-based gloStream helps doctors streamline their medical records by eliminating paperwork. One of its most popular technologies is voice-recognition software that allows a doctor's notes to go directly into the computer.
"It harkens back to modernizing the physician's office so they can spend more time with the patient," Sappington says.
