Franco PR nabs creative awards, will continue to add employees
Detroit-based Franco PR was just awarded three Hermes Creative Awards and has seen slow but steady growth of its staff of 20.
Franco Public Relations Group, head-quartered in Detroit’s Renaissance Center, was recently awarded three Hermes Creative Awards for its work for client Delta Dental. The publicity campaign and media kit was designed to educate the media and general public about oral cancer which, despite the fact that it is the sixth most common form of cancer in the United States, remains relatively unknown. The campaign focused on Indiana, Michigan and Ohio and was entitled “Oral Cancer Kills Someone in the U.S. Every Hour of Every Day.”
Franco was established in 1964 and is a full service PR firm that includes work in executive communications training, event planning and corporate-identity development. Vice-president Susa Ferraro says that the firm has diversified its client base over the last five years. “They run the gamut: health care, retail, non-profits — that’s the successful business model in this economy,” she says.
The staff averages 20. Ferraro says, “We’ve added some employees over the past year.” As for future hires, she says, “We hope so. We have plans for some aggressive growth over the next several years.”
