Northern nights: Lounge on W. Baltimore swings with after-party action during week of Cityfest

Dozens and dozens of musical performers, great food options, a few tasty cold beverages, meeting old friends, making new ones, great weather (we hope) just might not be enough for some of us. No. We need the after-party and some of us want to slide over there on foot from the grounds of the Cityfest in New Center.

So the Northern Lights Lounge (66 W. Baltimore, Detroit) has become that perfect place to dance away the small hours -- or at least 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. -- during every festival weekend.

This year, the music starts cranking on Tuesday at 11 a.m. (you read that right) and goes each night until closing time (the aforementioned witching hour of 2 a.m.). Some of the featured talent includes John Arnold, Dave Shettler, Frankie Banks, Downtown 81, John Johr, Dan Bain and others. For complete schedule, bar opening times and more info go here.
