What a long, strange trip: Novelist Michael Zadoorian reads and signs at Dearborn library

Feb. 4
7 p.m.
In Michael Zadoorian's quirky, funny and melancholy road novel,
The Leisure Seeker, an elderly married couple leave their Detroit home and take off in their camper for one last adventure together, despite protests from their adult children and doctors. They head west to Disneyland, outmaneuver some roadside predators, get stopped by the police and consider running for it, and have sex. To say more might spoil the fun. Let's just say expect the unexpected on this thoughtful, delightful human journey written by the author of the short story collection,
The Lost Tiki Palaces of Detroit.
Zadoorian reads and answers questions about his novel -- coming out in trade paperback on February 9, by the way -- Thursday, Feb. 4, 7-8:30 p.m. at Caroline Kennedy Library, 24590 George St., Dearborn. Multi-instrumentalist Luis Resto will be accompanying the reading on accordion and melodica. Sounds like a one of a kind night to us.
