This special retrospective exhibition puts a well-deserved spotlight on the the album jackets and vinyl output associated with 14 years of record releases from the legendary cult label Interdimensional Transmissions, which is headquartered in a house/studio on W. Grand Blvd in Southwest Detroit.

All IT releases have been designed (or co-designed) by Brendan M Gillen, with photos and art contributed by guest artists. Some sleeves were hand screened. Detroit visual and sound artist Ron Zakrin hand carved the print for his own “Stiletto” EP under his nom de musique Goudron. Musical artists represented on the over 20 colored vinyl records on display will include Ectomorph, Perspects, Alpha 606, I.B.M, I-f (whose classic club hit "Space Invaders are Smoking Grass" sums up perfectly the aesthetic of the label project), GD Luxxe and Goudron.

Music for the art opening includes sounds by Erika (IT/Ectomorph/erika.net) and Ian Clark (Perspects), Scott Zacharias, Sal Principato (of influential downtown NYC noise-dance band Liquid Liquid) and BMG, Gillen's space disco DJ moniker.

The event is called The Pawn Shop Years, starts at 10 p.m. and begins to wind down at 5 a.m. The show is presented by Detroit by Design at the Bankle Building in Midtown, 2944 Woodward Avenue, Detroit.
