Five year plan: Baar Bazaar celebrates marketplace success at free Majestic event

In the summer of 2005, a handful of vendors got together to create a new kind of marketplace inside the Garden Bowl at the Majestic Center. The Baar Bazaar has evolved into something bigger and more special over the last five years. For hundreds of businesses, designers and vendors, the bazaar has been an inspiration.
To celebrate the past five years, the size of the Summer Baar Bazaar has been doubled. It will host over 30 vendors and great local bands -- to be announced, but organizers have consistently trustworthy taste in music -- on Saturday, July 10, 8 p.m.-2 a.m. As always, the Baar Bazaar is free.
The Majestic Theatre is at 4140 Woodward Avenue, in Detroit's Midtown.
