Let's talk about art & design: CCS hosts April Greiman and Roberta Smith

March 5 Noon and 7:30 p.m. http://www.collegeforcreativestudies.edu/ Midtown's College for Creative Studies is hosting two awesome and, best of all, free public lectures on Thursday, March 5.

The CCS Toyota Lecture Series, a dynamic forum for public lectures on design, welcomes April Greiman, fine artist, designer and founder of Made in Space, a multi-disciplinary design practice at noon, on Thursday, March 5. Greiman has been known for her innovative use of advanced technology in problem-solving and the design process since the early 1980s. She has pioneered digital design through unique experiments with Apple Macs and developed legendary projects utilizing an experimental merger of type and image.

The CCS Woodward Lecture Series continues its 10th Anniversary Season with acclaimed art critic and popular lecturer on contemporary art Roberta Smith, 7:30 p.m. Smith (pictured) is senior art critic for The New York Times, where she began writing in 1986, and has also served as art critic for The Village Voice, Arts, Artforum, Art in America, Newsweek and Vogue.

Both lectures are held in the Wendell W. Anderson Jr. Auditorium in the Walter B. Ford II Building on the College for Creative Studies (201 E. Kirby St., Detroit) campus. Seating and Parking are both handled on a first come, first serve basis with parking available in the CCS parking structure as well as on surface streets near campus.
