SchoolPictures.Com takes over Ave Maria campus in Ypsi, to expand offices and staff

Schoolpictures.com might not be batting a 1,000 but it's hitting a home run in Ypsilanti. The fast-growing web-based company plans to move its headquarters to the old Ave Maria University campus so it can be close to Eastern Michigan University.
Plum Market construction nearly finished in Ann Arbor, to open in Feb.

Eating options in Ann Arbor are about to become a little more luxurious when the Plum Market opens in February. The specialty grocer will open a 28,000-square-foot facility in the Maple Village Shopping Center on the city's northwest side.
Rochester looks to finish up Downtown Riverwalk upgrade by January

Downtown Rochester is about to become a little more walkable when city workers finish adding new lighting to the Downtown Riverwalk early next year. The new decorative lights will line the Paint Creek between East Second Street and the City Hall.

UofM School of Public Health Building project finished

Work is done on the University of Michigan School of Public Health's building. The project renovated the existing building and added another 125,000 square feet in a 7-story addition.

A major corner of downtown Ann Arbor is almost finished with a big face lift. Work on the Key Bank Building is set to wrap up by this spring and the 55,000 square feet of space is set to be fully leased by this summer.
Redevelopment project in Dearborn wins $55 million in tax credits

More development is heading for Dearborn's west downtown. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation has approved $55 million in tax credits and captures for a project that will redevelop 12 sites along Michigan Avenue between Military and Howard streets.
Ann Arbor receives award from Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association

Ann Arbor is sticking yet another feather in its environmental hat. This time the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association presented the city's Energy Coordinator, David Konkle, with an award for his efforts to bring renewable energy use into the mainstream.

Downtown Detroit is on the rise. The Fort Shelby Hotel's first ten floors are being transformed into the 204-room Fort Shelby Doubletree Guest Suites Detroit. There will be 67 luxury apartments on floors 11-22 and 38,000 square feet of IACC-certified conference space.

Ypsilanti looks to add more bike lanes on Forest Avenue

Another bike lane is heading for Ypsilanti. The City Council approved putting in a new bike lane along West Forest Avenue between College Place and Norris Street. It expected to be in and available by this spring.

As if Tree Town could become any greener, Ann Arbor found a new way with its Energy Challenge Awards Program. The program awards companies that become more energy efficient or utilize renewable energies. Winners receive a plaque, public recognition from the city and the added savings from using less energy.
