Growth Companies

Meditrina Pharmaceuticals was formed in February 2006 by a group of entrepreneurs and drug developers. They got together and, based on the work of world-renowned researchers and clinicians from places like Wayne State University, Mount Sinai Hospital, and the University of Toronto, formed a company that focuses on bettering the health of women.

Meditrina works on the clinical-stage of pharmaceuticals. Their specialty is the developing and commercializing innovative therapies that treat women’s reproductive system disorders, with a concentration on gynecologic and aromatase-mediated conditions that have serious unmet medical needs.

Thomas Collet,  CEO and co-founder of Meditrina, says that the company is still very new, only employing six positions right now in Ann Arbor, but plans to add another five to 10 more positions in the coming year.

During their first year of business, however, their work wasn’t overlooked. They were given $3.8 million to grow their business from the 21st Century Job Fund Award

"This is a great place to work," Collet says. "You have the ability to make a different through the development of new drugs that will help the patients."
