Hamilton Anderson was founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1994 when architects Rainy Hamilton, Jr. and landscape architect Kent Anderson pooled their talent, personalities and backgrounds to build a firm that values unity over uniformity.

The firm has spent its first thirteen years growing into three floors of an old warehouse in downtown Detroit's Harmonie Park District. Their fondness for this area helps fuel downtown Detroit's pedestrian life, neighborhood character and creative workforce.
