Settling in with 15 staff members, Azure Dynamics is looking to expand to 50 people within the next three years. The electric and hybrid electric drive company moved their central headquarters to Oak Park to better coordinate with its four other offices across the continent
"We want three concentrations of people," says Bruce MacDonald, president of MacDonald Communication, speaking on the behalf of the company. "We have 50 in Boston, 50 in Vancouver and in the next couple years we'd like 50 in Oak Park."
Azure develops technology for environmentally friendly hybrid service vehicles and commercializes them for companies, cities, and states. The company currently has their technology in vehicles with the New York City Post office, FedEx in California, and Florida Power and Light. More units are expected to find their way into vehicles in Illinois and Ohio by the year's end.
More hybrid vehicles on tyhe road? Sounds good to us. As the company logo points out, AZD is clearly "part of the solution."
